(7,820 posts)were Trump's 'military' guards that escorted him through tear gas to pose with a bible? Trump said he was walking to capitol...Certainly Trump wouldn't have walked just with the maga crowd...was there supposed to be an escort that didn't happen?
would explain why trump didn't walk (though there are prob other reasons) and why the crowd thought they had backup and why there was no capitol opposition.
Speculation, but valid question. That's all we have at the moment.

(3,985 posts)I cried watching my favorite Representatives
crouching behind gallery walls that would not have protected them if one of those militant terrorists had opened fire with an automatic rifle.
I slept for the first time last night
I wonder what levels of PTSD Congress members are experiencing.
And the BRAVERY of Congress to reconvene & work all night to certify Biden/Harris.
Brings tears quite frankly

(583 posts)Reminds me of when we practice lockdowns with the children in my classroom and it is upsetting, even though it is only a drill. I go from being so angry about this to weeping! There absolutely needs to be accountability, so glad to see some arrests have been made.

(3,721 posts)I want to know the details and the planning. I want to know how things were coordinated and brought together. I want the people who sat at home or in their offices watching, waiting for it to go down. I'm pissed and the little fish won't make me happy.
