And weren’t a crowd of thousands yelling, screaming, battering down doors, and smashing windows.

This is not to say that there is any reason on earth to arrest nuns, just that the situations are not comparable. I think the lesson is that these guys are real brave when it comes to exercising the law when it’s a bunch of little ladies in habits, but not so brave when faced with a crowd of maniacal insurgent felons.

Look, I’m less looking to cast blame on these overrun, undersupported police (except for the few that seemed to be enjoying it). I’m more concerned about who ordered the plans that had so few of them available to deal with the situation, and who gave the orders for the NationL Guard and Metropolitan Police to stand down. That person is the real miscreant.
