As if they did not expect to be charged

They stormed waved the flags took pictures and posted them.

And why not?

Started with attending Obama ACA meetings publicly displaying their guns.

Created a new culture - yes using “social media,” expressing and behaving in the most outrageous way just like, yes, Trump.

No one was ever called them up. No doubt, the ones that are charged, including the one from Pelosi’s office, cannot understand. After all, they, and their leader have been doing this for years.

Marching around on the Senate floor with his mask off. Either he's the stupidest mother-fucker on the planet or he didn't think he was coming out of that situation in a position to be prosecuted.

I suspect there will always be a few rubes on any jury to hang it.

It was growing dark. Park lights along the Mall had switched on, illuminating the monuments. On the ground, in the hands of so many retreating protesters, American flags beat in the wind. Atop the Capitol building, now aglow under low-hanging clouds, the same flag flew.

“This is not America,” a woman said to a small group, her voice shaking. She was crying, hysterical. “They’re shooting at us. They’re supposed to shoot BLM, but they’re shooting the patriots.”

A man, possibly her husband, comforted her: “Don’t worry, honey. We showed them today. We showed them what we’re all about.”

White privileges, entitlement, and racism on full display. They sure as hell showed America exactly who and what they are. Utterly disgusting excuses for human beings and the furthest things from being "patriots" that I've seen in my lifetime.

state capitals and DC. I hope these idiots stay stupid and not learn a lesson about not covering their faces or giving their names to reporters. Now that the Feds are swooping these guys up like fish in a barrel because of their hubris, I want any future domestic terrorists that commit acts of violence to be caught and prosecuted. And this first batch of morons smiling and posing for the cameras made it easy to be tracked down and arrested. And some lost their jobs as an added bonus. Stay Stupid and Proud, Morons.
