All this hoopla about rising gasoline prices and gasoline exporting is missing the whole plot.

The cheaper the gas, the more warming we'll have, the more droughts we'll have, the poorer the harvests will be, and the higher food prices will be due to increased scarcity.

This obviously needs to be said because I'm seeing way too many posts complaining about skyrocketing gas prices, especially in California. It's as if we totally forgot the drought this year, and what brought it about.

Cheaper gasoline is going to kill us.

No matter how we try to ameliorate it, it's still a Darwinian universe.

3. I have family in Germany who pay $8.90 per gallon

1.80 Euros ($2.35) per liter (1 gallon = 3.79 liter).

However, they have excellent and cheap public transportation (subway, trains, buses, trolleys) and everything essential is in walking distance.

They didn't have any sympathy when I complained about paying $4.65 today for a gallon.
