(5,945 posts)The intention - at best - was to deprive the legislature, and thus McConnell, of power. At worst, McConnell could have been strung up by the rioters for being insufficiently loyal to Trump.
McConnell had to flee for his life from the Senate chamber he has ruled. I don't expect him to forget that experience. No, I don't expect him to forget it.

(5,504 posts)He could have propped up the two GA Senators as leaders in the fight for the stimulus. Instead he was snarky about it. I don't know if it would have helped...but it definitely denied them from being able to take a victory lap around GA.
