Hi all-
Normally I am just a lurker but I am compelled to post. This morning while attempting to open a post I got a message from my router advising the post contained malware. It was a post about the leader of the proud boys being arrested. This is the first time the malware protection on my TpLink has ever done this. I exited back to the latest post list and tried to reopen the post and got the same message.
I don't know how to report this but I suspect someone needs to run a scan on the server.
Thanks,
Hutchewon

Yes, I do. Network wide.

(3,634 posts)Several times DU ads have taken over my Android phone with obvious fake "antivirus" warnings trying to get me to download something to "fix" the problem. Fortunately they don't seem to be using exploits and simply forcing a new URL overrides them. I know it's DU because this doesn't happen when browsing any of the other discussion sites I follow.

(34,195 posts)You may want to run a scan on your equipment.
Malwarebytes is a free one that I use.
I suspect if it was on the DU equipment many more of us would have seen it and be talking about it.
However thank you for bringing it to our attention.
Please post it in the administration file and someone will look at it.

(59 posts)I am a retired IT professional. I scanned the device on which I got the message. The message came from the anti-virus on my router. I'm not saying I can't get infected, but I suspect I am a little better protected than the average user.
