At a Twitter link on another DU thread, I scrolled down to read additional tweets not connected to the replies of the linked one. This was from the link in the DU thread about a warning from Fiona Hill.

Those other tweets quoted and provided links to posts from RW media like Parler. The RW posts bragged about a "Million Militia March" in DC on Jan 20, with activities beginning on Jan 17 and 19. They claim to have enough armed militia and ammunition that no army can stop them.

The stated goal is to takeover DC and federal government to prevent Biden from getting near the White House. They intend to occupy DC and halt government functioning until or unless Trump is confirmed as the reelected president.

Other plans call for occupations and attacks on government offices at the state level in Democratic states.

Looks like Jan 6 was a dry run to see where weaknesses and opportunities exist.

The only thing that gets through with them is the money. On my local NPR, there was a segment explaining why Twitter didn't ban trump before now. The guy who wrote The Social Dilemma was interviewed. He explains that it's because they have a revenue stream set up and they are reluctant to tamper too much with it. When they make big changes like banning the president, it could have unintended consequences for their bottom line.

What about the fact that allowing him to go on for so long like he did has unintended consequences for our democracy?
