This is especially true because President-Elect Biden is calling for unity.

You cannot have unity with people who want to destroy you.

republican contrition and begging for unity has one purpose to save their hides.

As soon as the first kumbya they'll be back to the evil little bastards they've always been.

You'd think they would learn this lesson the first time they got screwed over.

justice is required and so are real consequences.

Four years later, they made their choice. Jeb Bush didn't barely lose to Donald Trump in the Republican primaries. He got demolished. Second place turned out to be none other than Ted Cruz.

Let's not harbor any illusions about what the Republican Party has become.

I lurk often over at FR and you'll read posts there where Freepers say they didn't vote in 2000, 2004, 2008, or 2012.

And many are calling for Trump to leave the republican Party and form a new one. Others are saying that'd it be best to stay in the Party and that they need to support whoever the Republican candidate is.

A blue state, yes, but a very red part of it.

These people have always been this way. There is no party of McCain moderates that will snap back as soon as Trump is gone. They gritted their teeth to vote for McCain and Romney. Trump is what they've been longing for for years.

Trump is who 60% of them are.

The basket of deplorables is real. If we pretend otherwise, we will only delay the healing process that must take place.

These people need to be shunned. If they committed crimes, they need to be punished.

We can't afford to coddle these people any more, just because they are white. Just because they are our "friends" and relatives.

It has gone too far.

They are R's or independent conservatives who will vote for whoever is the Republican candidate.

I think many of them also want justice so with them, there's a chance for unity.

There is no chance of unity with the hard core Trumpsters.

These people would vote for Hitler if he had an (R) by his name. They might even prefer that to Romney or McCain.

Let's not kid ourselves about who these people are. There are a few "good" conservatives, but they have lost control of their party.

I remember Republicans in the 2012 primary said specifically that they didn't like Romney but voted for him because they said he had the best chance of beating Obama. Romney also would change his positions from the primary to general election.

They also didn't like McCain that much. They picked Palin for the GOP base. McCain wanted somebody like Lieberman but that would have angered them even though Democrats didn't like Lieberman that much either.

election. That is it. They do not get to be part of the blame just winning an electi9on because they certainly coddle these people for two months. Not a "both sides" situation here. The reason we are where we are is because for two months we coddle these people. Didn't call it when we won but let it go and go and go. There are reasons you call an election. So in that regard, yes, we were part of the problem.

I was thinking about this again this morning reading about concern with traitors in the secret service and other protective agency. Both sides my ass. Making peace my ass.you declare you hate the untie group since their supposed mission is getting your hate to untie with them.

I do find it ironic that
