We need a domestic terrorism law.

I agree with Frank Figluzzi on MSNBC right now.

We need to have law enforcement monitoring social media platforms at this point.

The more I think about it, the more I think that if a law did exist it would be unfairly applied and used on black and brown people instead of the desired right wing target

Social media activity about Wednesday's riots were well known to authorities. The authorities chose to do nothing.

More laws about this will not make us safer

how our Politicians ran to Fox News a threatened to shut the Government down if Congress put any legislation in the Terrorism laws that directly target our home grown Militias. Yup,the Boys are just excising their Second Amendment rights.

Thank the NRA for preventing Domestic Terrorist language from making it into this legislation. And now we see how one major Lobbing Group worked to protect their White Gun Humpers form exposure in Domestic Terrorism.

willing to enforce laws that already exist. If we have that then we can introduce new laws and have the
system work.

I can see a possible need for a law, besides RICO, to allow LE to monitor and charge groups wrt violent conspiracy but I also fear such a law would be misapplied to progressive/left groups. I have heard/read people like Figluzzi claiming that LE could only charge individuals with lesser crimes, like illegal possession of a firearm, even though everyone knew there had been a conspiracy of a group of people to do something much more nefarious. They also can’t usually act proactively before the crime is committed, even if they have evidence that it’s planned (outside of RICO? not sure about that). By and large I think that’s a good thing, else they’d harass and arrest people for intemperate language alone, which I’d oppose.

We know the FBI and other LE have targeted leaders of BLM for surveillance just for organizing protests. I don’t want them to be able to harass all of us even more based on a more draconian law.

On balance, I think I’m against such an expansion of state power. But I’m open to an argument that such a law would do far more good than bad.
