constitutes the Cabinet at the present time?
ON EDIT-the Amendment says "principal officers" not cabinet. I am in good company I guess, I have seen "cabinet" elsewhere in explanations of the amendment. Thanks to StarfishSaver for pointing this out to me.

(18,486 posts)It is invoked by a majority of the "principal officers" of the departments. If a cabinet secretary is not in place, the acting secretary can sign off.

(17,506 posts)drive the process and whip the vote, imo. I don't see anyone on the list who's an actual Trump zealot - maybe DeVos, but she's gone. Trump's merely a useful idiot to them. Now that he's no longer useful, but a liability, they'll have no problem voting to remove him.

(18,486 posts)The 25th Amendment refers to the "principal officers" which doesn't have to be a confirmed secretary.

(5,058 posts)Any republican going along with it is basically death nails for their future career. They are going to be spineless and hide for 12 days and hope this things pass. There is no upside for them to go along with it publicly (at least in the current republican party).
Of course, that means they rather be spineless than doing the right thing as a human being and for the country.
