House Republicans Ask Biden: Get Pelosi to Back Off Impeachment

A group of House Republicans who voted to accept President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory asked him to persuade Speaker Nancy Pelosi to back off impeaching Donald Trump for instigating Wednesday’s riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The lawmakers, led by Representative Ken Buck of Colorado, warned in a letter to Biden on Saturday that Trump’s impeachment would inflame his supporters anew, and damage Biden’s efforts to unify the country.

“In the spirit of healing and fidelity to our Constitution, we ask that you formally request that Speaker Nancy Pelosi discontinue her efforts to impeach President Donald J. Trump a second time,” they wrote. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-01-09/house-republicans-ask-biden-get-pelosi-to-back-off-impeachment

You know who won’t be healing? The five people who DIED when Trump sent his mob to vandalize the Capitol Building.

Who really thinks that "backing off" will mollify Trump, first, and second, his fascist mobs.

Those same Republicans said that Trump would learn his lesson during his first impeachment, that conviction and removal just weren't necessary. Now, here we are.

Pelosi should tell them to shove it up their asses. Trump set up Pence and members of Congress to be tied up and hanged. And just a week ago, Trump was caught shaking down the Georgia SoS and pressuring him into committing felonies.

And GOPers want mercy before a trial? That's what I call "nerve". Those GOPers who are pressuring Pelosi are themselves Nazis and insurrectionists. They're aiding and abetting another coup attempt. They know it.

Trump's followers can go to hell. Because they have white skin doesn't mean that they wouldn't kill others with white skin. And they will. Trump attracts, intentionally, the craziest of the crazy, and some are simply psychopaths out for a killing.

There are probably several reasons why Pelosi is backing impeachment, but I'm pretty sure one of them is that she is ROYALLY PISSED. She is well aware that she and others were major targets of the hostility and could have easily been killed if things had gone any other way but what they did.

Additionally, this is a building and an institution of our government that she loves, and it was violated. If you've ever been the victim of a burglary and returned to a ransacked home, you know the feeling of violation. I'm sure she has seen all the pictures - the gear some of them were bringing to the riot, like those military grade hand constraints, etc., and I'm sure she's been informed about the pipe bombs, and guns, and nooses, not to mention the vandalism, looting, and deaths.

And I'm sure she has been given major intelligence of the background details of this event. This was one branch of government (executive) literally going to war with another branch (legislative). It totally crossed a line, as is Trump's MO about most things.

She has every right to feel personal indignation at this coup attempt, as well as outrage for the assault on our form of government. I'm pretty sure there will be no persuading her to back off.....
