Amazon takes down Parler

At least temporarily. Amazon's web-hosting service has removed Parler from the internet here in the US. Parler is of course going to look for a new hosting service (Murdoch will likely provide one, IMO) but in the meantime, this is good news!

Even before the parler take down, Malcom Nance tweeted a list of big businesses that are believed to be target for these shitbags.

Btw, this is "normal" redneck behavior. Anything they don't like, they valdalize you home, car, pets, kids, etc. This is a way of conflict resolution for these assholes. Oh, btw, even if you have something they do like, this behavior is often thd result. Can include a nice car or home, personal integrity, etc.

Their execs are telling users at least a week, and that’s if they can find another provider immediately. Migrating their data over is going to take time.

And there aren’t a lot of web services that can support an app like theirs. The big ones are not going to be interested (google and Microsoft). Will probably go off shore. My prediction is they run out of money before they get device restored and then fold.

6. If Parler does find a new hosting service,

that service should receive millions of emails demanding that Parler be taken down. That includes off-shore hosting services. Then, more emails should go to other organizations who use that hosting service, demanding that they also insist on Parler being taken down.

Would that work? Oh, hell yes it would work.

17. If Parler specifically uses AWS (Amazon Web Services)...

...and it’s not designed for a more generic web server simply hosted on Amazon, it won’t be as easy as uploading a backup to some other hosting service. It might require a great deal of re-engineering of the site to move elsewhere.

One can hope this is exactly the case.
