How many Senate votes now are required for Impeachment?

Now that the two Georgia Senators have conceded/ republicans ...does that change the Impeachment quota required by the Senate to seal the deal? Also, what is the number we need this week for the Senate to confirm Impeachment of Trump?

2. 2/3 of the Senators in attendance is what's needed.

If only 60 Senators are present, 40 votes are needed for conviction.

My feeling: the best course for R Senators is to skip the trial. They can then say they never voted to convict tRump. Leave it to the Ds and a handful of Rs to do what’s right.

Does anyone think some republican senators could be a no show and thus not technically be associated with vote for impeachment? Some are pure cowards.

15. That won't happen. Skipping the trial will be viewed extremely negatively by voters.

Republican voters in particular will not forgive any Republican that doesn't vote to acquit. Some Republicans like Collins, who probably has run for office for the last time, and Murkoowski, who already is essentially an independent, and a few others, could get away not voting to acquit.

If they're afraid of voting to convict, they're going to be afraid of not voting to acquit.

The Senate holds the trial and makes the decision about removal. For that it requires 2/3 of the Senators who are present. It does NOT require 67 votes, necessarily.

12. If repugs don't show up for the vote, we will pass it easily.

I'm afraid that is the only way it will happen. Repugs don't have the guts to show up and vote the treasonous bastard out.
