General Discussion

asked for her thoughts on the events, on Meet the Press, she said, in a long drawn-out way, in a tone that suggested she was saying something very profound, that "we are in a crisis", and that there is talk of impeaching Trump or using the 25th Amendment. She said this as if it was something that she just learned from some source of hers.
When they asked her to be on the show, couldn't she just say "I don't have any thoughts. Give the time who has something to say."?
(if someone else saw her and disagrees, I'd be glad to discuss...)

Her act wore thin a long time ago. Years ago on DU2, we had a poster (Gloria, I think) that went to elementary or high school or both with her and wrote a really revealing essay about her. I wish I could locate that post now, but long gone, I guess. It was really great to read. I guess she was pretty full of herself (for little real reason) even then.

(2,654 posts)She would sit silent as the other three guests carried on lively debates among themselves and with Bill. Occasionally, Noonan would offer a low-keyed comment, but that was all that came out of her.

(24,392 posts)touch the face of god bullshit that Reagan uttered to explain away the Challenger tragedy.
Loser.

(2,654 posts)Quoting such a solemn work was eventually deemed by many of us as having been crass in light of the finding that the Challenger explosion occurred after its lift-off was rushed in freezing weather because Reagan wanted to have the shuttle orbiting when he delivered his State of the Union speech.

(22,065 posts)say, of course (sarcastically). It is kind of time to stop listening to all of these millions of opinions and such. I do get kind of tired of hearing about this guy's opinion/comment/etc., and this gal's opinion/comment/etc.; I don't even listen anymore. Don't want to.
It's ridiculous and I think that (IMHO) you see this in coming out more and more, that people are turning off the talk TV, the talk radio, etc. and perhaps are chatting instead w/ their friends, in their coffee houses, offices, etc.
I believe this mainly because all of these talk shows are based upon ratings, which means they have to stir things up in order to get a bounce in ratings, and thus deserve some of the blame in stirring the tempest up. There have been talk of hundreds of broadcast radio/tv discussions going on endlessly about this horrible action by the democrats, and endlessly the horrible acts by republicans (not as much). Kind of priming the pump so to speak.
trump also, is a big source of this misinformation, source of so many lies and mistruths, and I hope that they closely look at why didn't
big media take earlier steps to suppress the sheer number of lies, and seemingly talk of violence by trump? Sure he's the president as the stupid reasoning that media provided but now look at what has happened. Their failure to act has resulted in death, in stirring up passions far beyond what it should been allowed to. Sure the first Amendment is one of the most treasured of Amendments but how far does this go?
IMHO, pls.
