"Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), a gun-toting supporter of the QAnon movement, is facing backlash after she was accused of live-tweeting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) location during the attack on Capitol Hill last week.
Boebert shared the tweet soon after President Donald Trump's supporters stormed the Capitol with deadly results.
"The Speaker has been removed from the chambers," Boebert wrote.
.....
Twitter users responded by calling for the freshman representative to be jailed and removed from Congress.
"@FBIWFO please arrest @laurenboabert for aiding and abetting those who were hunting down @SpeakerPelosi on Jan, 6th by tweeting the Speaker's whereabouts," one person responded. "She's 5ft tall, 100 pounds and carries a Glock (and won't stop telling everyone)."
She also tweeted, "Today is 1776"
She has violated her oath of office, and needs to be removed immediately

(2,278 posts)For this degree of dangerous sedition. Did she have her fingers crossed during her oath or just believes she is above all that tedious business?

(26,008 posts)or did she only reveal that Pelodi had been moved to a safe location? How would she know where Pelosi was?
The rest of her behavior is enough to have her removed from Congress, but exactly what did she reveal about Pelosi's location?

(54,770 posts)more than enough to expel her (although it requires 2/3rds of House).
If someone serving in the government doesn't have the sense to keep her mouth/keyboard shut in a situation like that, they should be expelled.
Maybe just tweet Pelosi had been removed will be enough to charge her, especially if they can show she was communicating with the terrorist rubes.

(2,369 posts)Who was she working with and for how long? If she was merely a useful idiot, who was calling the shots?
Felony indictment is usually sufficient enticement for a Member of Congress to resign, and sufficient for expulsion if they do not resign

(3,203 posts)it takes a 2/3 vote to allow her to be seated. And that 2/3 is for both chambers of Congress. Unlikely she would get it. All the Senators and Congresspeople who raised objections to the Electoral College Vote should be held to account on the same rule and refused to be seated in the new Congress.
Just saw post #9 below me with chapter and verse.

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

(2,369 posts)Just maybe, over the next month, the FBI might start to execute search warrants and call some of these participants in the conspiracy to execute a coup for questioning. It's starting to feel like there are going to be arrests, indictments, resignation in some cases and expulsion for those who go the Jim Trafficant route, just maybe, there will be a reckoning and sweeping housecleaning coming in the months ahead

Mr.Bill
(24,906 posts)but all the social media websites I use post the time I, in my time zone, am looking at it. Not the time zone of who posted it. So if I, on the west coast I saw 7:30 on my screen, it was actually 10:30 in DC, which was still pretty early, though.

(1,690 posts)Plenty of colonists left the 13 Colonies after the revolution. Some felt the courage of their convictions and left immediately, some needed persuasion (I'm not advocating tar and feathering.) In any case they left.
The people who felt they needed to violently overthrow the government of the United states need to leave. The rest of us can't afford to let them stay and endanger our democracy, and if they really believe its so horrible in the US under Democratic leadership then they should put their money where their mouths are, renounce their citizenship and get the hell out.
We know it won't happen for 2 reasons. No other country in the world is stupid enough to take this batch of (X
