A response from a Trump nut on Facebook:
Is this tied to those bizarre fake rumors about a blackout at the Vatican, the Pope being arrested, etc.?

(44,178 posts)March on Rome, 1922 mass demonstration that put fascist Mussolini in power as Prime Minister. (History person here).
The March on Rome was an organized mass demonstration in October 1922 which resulted in Benito Mussolini's National Fascist Party (PNF) ascending to power in the Kingdom of Italy. In late October 1922, Fascist Party leaders planned an insurrection, to take place on 28 October. When fascist demonstrators and Blackshirt paramilitaries entered Rome, Prime Minister Luigi Facta wished to declare a state of siege, but this was overruled by King Victor Emmanuel III. On the following day, 29 October 1922, the King appointed Mussolini as Prime Minister, thereby transferring political power to the fascists without armed conflict...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/March_on_Rome

(4,739 posts)I'm guessing that is what is coming out here. Most of the RWers I know HATE Catholicism, as a statue worshipping cult. The Pope? Let's just say no love lost. There are a LOT of Catholics on the right, and a lot of people on the right who detest Catholics and Catholicism. I think this fact will eventually be a point of schism on the right.

This quackery, however, seems to be about someone revealing US election fraud to someone/some authority in Rome, of all places. Which doesn't necessarily sound anti-Catholic. Just bizarre.

(60,320 posts)Supposedly it had something to do with stealing the election.
I expect it to have about as much credibility as the story that the US military raided a server room in Frankfurt Germany and Haspel head of CIA was killed in the raid.

Italians on Twitter were said to find it hilarious that someone thought they'd be organised enough to steal an election with technology.

(15,909 posts)Whether you love Catholics or hate them, why imagine that Rome is where someone would reveal evidence of US election fraud?
Irish_Dem
(82,317 posts)1. A Catholic leader is ruled by Rome, the pope aids and abets political activity, in this case election fraud.
2. Catholics go to confession. Joe had confession with the Pope who lives in Rome, and confessed all his "crimes."
Whatever these insurrectionists are saying will be something along these lines I would imagine.
As I said, they said these things about the Kennedys.

(13,993 posts)of course modern day evangelicals think Catholics are apostates, and then we have the QAnon bullsh*t about the Pope being a pedo coming from Lin Wood so that is not surprising.
