Congressman Crow raised grave concerns about reports that active duty and reserve military members were involved in the insurrection.
Let that sink in.

Rep. Jason Crow, a Democrat of Colorado and a former Army Ranger, said he spoke with Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy on Sunday and was told that "at least 25 domestic terrorism cases have been opened as a result of the assault on the Capitol."

(11,222 posts)7. So it takes them an hour and half to respond to a threat because they "weren't prepared".
That is mostly wht happens in any given emergency. Not seeing cops getting a call about crime an saying, well, give us some time, we weren't expecting this.

(5,829 posts)8. DC Mayor Bowser clearly stated that DC Natl Guard is not allowed to protect Federal property
Seems to be some attempts to blame DC City officials which doesn't make sense when they do not have jurisdiction to deploy DC police or DC National Guard to protect Federal properties including the US Capitol.
DC police made quite a few arrests for weapons violations before the insurrection which undoubtedly reduced the violence.
