(3,782 posts)Of course that meant if something happened to Trump himself the last few days of his term would be served by Nancy Pelosi.

(3,782 posts)The thing is you can't fill the VP seat by "acting" or recess appointment, it has to be confirmed and it can stay vacant if necessary while that process carries through because the main role of the VP is to be available if something happens to the President, and that can be someone further down on the succession list if necessary.

(16,515 posts)if turtle face calls the Senate into session.
turtle Mctraitor face will leave the seat vacant to avoid that risk.

(60,436 posts)Fox Noise would probably offer him a $400,000 a year job just to have a recent former VP among its commentators, and (by Fox standards), his rep would be relatively unsoiled. If he chooses to go down with the Trump ship, his star quality is greatly diminished, and thus so does his value to any future employer. I'd say 80% to 85% of his worth to any future employer goes down with the Trump ship.

(12,245 posts)Whether he considers it that, or not, it seems pretty weak that the VP and only the VP has to be involved. I wonder what the thinking on that stipulation might have been.
