Biden won't move in (will stay in a hotel) until completed.

(3,192 posts)Dont think a twice impeached president would be eligible in any case, but in Trumps case, even if he avoids prison, I doubt the courtesy would be extended to him. His only use for the information, in any case, would be to sell to the highest bidder.
NYC Liberal
(20,453 posts)So, yeah, I highly doubt Biden will allow that.
You're right -- he's up to his eyeballs in debt. He would 100% sell it. I think his passport should be revoked too.

(71,884 posts)... wonderful "underground" books. Most mainstream comics were kinda right wingy to me.
I came up reading all the EC books - Crypt, Eerie etc in the fifties. I wish I still had them, they disappeared after my grandparents sold the farm.

(11,084 posts)I could have retired by now if I had all the comics, G.I.Joe and Star Wars stuff I used to have. But, the Vortex (my mother) had to clear that stuff out after my brother got old enough and did so before I could even say anything. At least I still have my Matchbox/Hot Wheels collection. They are not in the best of shape, but there are some 'gems' in there for sure.

(55,050 posts)to have a tad of racist stereotype in its day? Because the first 2 are combs in the conventional sense, and the third is what was called in the 80s an Afro-pik, don't know if that term's still used today, and the spaceman operating Comb #3 is black.
Sort of like the Hitler in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes - the helicopter gyrates in circles and Hitler is a black guy with a Hitler mustache.
70s and 80s humor.
BumRushDaShow
(169,403 posts)(like Gene Wilder) which was extremely rare for Hollywood. His work on "Blazing Saddles" was another example of his ability to incorporate humor across races without the negative racial stereotypes, which is often tricky to do even when done by black comedians.
The pick scene was just hilarious and Eddie Murphy's guest appearance was even funnier. The helmets all 6 of them had on were "'fro shaped" too. It helped to make his films cross-over favorites.
There is a pick sculpture on the plaza in front of Philly's Municipal Services Building (installed next to the now-removed Frank Rizzo statue).

Because the coiffed tall afro was a common hairstyle by the mid-'70s (what many of us would called the "J5 'fro" - in reference to the hair styles worn by the Jackson 5), the pick was very popular and a big seller, and was not only used for combing and shaping, but as a hair ornament, so many of them were decorative. Spaceballs came out when the hairstyles had switched to the Jheri Curl in the '80s, but people were still fondly remembering "the old days" of the "Afro sheen Blow-out kits".

(11,845 posts)When she had finished, she walked around her home for one last time. She went into each and every room and focused on the happy memories. And then she deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells, dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods. Then she cleaned up the kitchen, put her things into a U-Haul and left.
The next day, her ex-husband and his new girlfriend moved into the home. All was bliss for the first few days. Then slowly, the house began to smell. They tried everything: cleaning and mopping and airing the place out. Vents were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam-cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere. They moved out for a few days while exterminators set off gas canisters. They replaced the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked.
People stopped coming over to visit. Repairmen refused to work in the house. The maid quit. Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.
A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house. Word got out, and eventually, the local real estate agents would not return their calls. Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to buy a new place.
The ex-wife called her ex-husband and asked how things were going. He told her the saga of the smelly house. She listened politely and said that she missed her old home terribly and would be willing to buy the house, even though it obviously had some kind of a problem. Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a price that was a 10th of what the house had been worth -- but only if she were to sign the papers that very day. She agreed, and within the hour, his lawyers delivered the paperwork.
A week later, the man and his new girlfriend stood smirking as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home. Including the curtain rods.
