If you see something on a site that's not very popular and it's something very disconcerting how do you turn it in or let someone know?
I have always just assumed that the FBI monitors everything on the internet, but, DO THEY?

(1,559 posts)just tell them the website and a specific forum within that web site and the handles of the people discussing said intention of committing a crime? without having to talk to the FBI?
I get nervous and don't speak properly when talking to authoritative people.

(8,514 posts)I think you can just do it online.
I'll try...I went to that site and skimmed around, I'll go back and take a deeper look, thank you!
Learned living on a reservation not to trust the FBI...but now, things are strange....

(8,514 posts)Maybe someone can do it for you. If there's an address, you could even send them an anonymous letter, although mail is slow.
I just want you to know that I respect your apprehension, so do what you feel you need you have to do.
I just sent them information that I had...website/forum/handles.

(7,012 posts)I remember that I reported something quite a few years ago. I don't even remember what it was, but I do remember that the person I spoke with was very respectful.

You should report something if you see it, though.

(14,559 posts)and send that to the FBI tip line posted in #1 response.
That url address will give them all they need to monitor the individual poster and the entire site.
I didn't even see a place to do that...no matter, I gave them info to get there. I sent out the tip. Why am I shaking though?

(8,514 posts)You did the right thing.
For what it's worth, I reported every post I saw on FB that was spreading lies about the election, and now they're gone.

(14,559 posts)I felt the same way when, as Jury Foreman, I had to sign my name to the guilty and sentencing form taking 3 years away from a man's life. I knew he was guilty, eleven other peers agreed but still it was MY signature that sealed his fate.
It's something you HAVE to do as a patriotic citizen of the country we both love.
