Once he sees the writing on the wall?
Once he realizes that he is going to lose the vote in the Senate, will he be looking to make a deal?
For the first time in almost 5 years, he will probably "act" presidential. He will be a martyr. He will be a victim.
He will be gone.

(1,406 posts)For now, I see people like Mitch today just giving the OK to House Republicans that voting for impeachment is OK (He won't attack them).
But who knows? Perhaps the Congress members have been briefed and they know things we don't know yet.

(96,882 posts)Unlikely he'll see it that way.
His whole stupid thesis now is "fight for Trump". Seems like about 30% of Americans will follow that anywhere he goes with it. The only way he loses it is if he gives up. I don't think he resigns period because then he can't blame everyone else for whatever happens.

(31,155 posts)If he is going to resign it will be in the last day or two. He will push it right up to the end or just screw himself out of his psychotic pride.

(41,634 posts)However at this point I'm not so sure that Pence is willing to do that. Chump tried to have him killed 6 days ago, why should he get a pardon ... for any reason?
If Pence doesn't agree to give him the pardon, I don't think Chump will resign.

(3,650 posts)if it provided total immunity/protection for him and his family. Plus there would have to be some major financial bonus for him, just to sweeten the pot.

(415 posts)He's given up on many lawsuits and settled. He's quit on two marriages. He quit on the American people. The list could go on for quite a while.

(13,643 posts)The thing about Trump is he doesnt like losing or being seen as weak. Which is why he did the photo op after the COVID infection. Honestly its why he wont admit he lost fairly, well one of the reasons.
Trump doesnt have a way out and there is no graceful option for him.
