The Victory of Truth and Democracy

If truth is to be served, I am willing to admit that Donald Trump received almost 75 million votes in the last election.

At the same time, we must admit that Joe Biden received almost 82 million votes.

We cannot accept one without the other.

Those that scream "Fraud!" are more than willing to believe that Donald Trump received all those votes. But, Joe Biden did not receive his votes, even though 50 individual states, Democrats and Republicans, verified and certified them.

The truth is not a buffet. We do not get to choose which ones we believe and which ones we don't believe. It's sitting there right next to the grits and gravy.

The truth is that more Americans went out to vote than anytime in our history. The majority sensed the danger in the MAGA movement and went to the polls to fight it. They were victorious. The people spoke. Democracy won. Unfortunately, the supporters of the "Fascist" in the White House did not accept it. They did not even accept that he was a "fascist". Perhaps that is a truth yet to be determined?

However, every voter that went to the polls and voted for democracy is a hero for the country. They realized that it is much better to resolve our differences at the polls than in the streets.

It will take some time for our country to assimilate the truth about this election and how the "Big Lie" was used to manipulate the emotions and actions of millions of Trump supporters. It is up to them to reconcile their demons. The truth and democracy were victorious.

...while they were having a church service.

It later set up gangrene and he had to have his hand amputated.

When asked what happened, he would always blame it on the gangrene, not on the snake. And certainly not on his religious beliefs.

Reality bites.

That anecdote is a lot like what we see from people in regards to Covid, as you know.

First they deny it's a danger (or that it exists at all), and then - if sickened - they blame everyone but themselves.

Worst of all, they sicken others who were careful - as we saw on the House floor during the riot.

The mantra has been and will continue to be for a while, "I did nothing wrong." Perhaps they will never admit it.

Like their "leader" they will not admit they were fooled into supporting a despot.

They approach their support for Trump with a religious fervor, impervious to trivialities like facts. For them, truth is subjective, malleable, subject to the molding force of their leaders' voices.
