I also respect Pelosi. To copy a phrase from malaise, I am to the left of Pelosi, but I respect her competence and experience. She knows how to get stuff done in DC. AOC is the idealistic firebrand who excites young people and even middle-aged crones like me. They are part of the same team.

Members of the Republican Party who at least do not actively support acts of violent insurrection otoh are people to hold one's nose and tolerate in a crisis of this magnitude.

36. It's amazing how often and how strongly one must express the most obvious truth.

The people that 'get it' right away almost surely had these sentiments to begin with. How can 'preaching to the choir' get the job done? Hopefully, some of the less committed, less redneck, less fascist will find their ideologue foundation eroding and begin to see the light as the artifice crumbles.

Maybe just shrinking their numbers will hit critical mass sooner than we envision.
