What would healing look like?

Republicans want us to “heal.” Ok. But what would that look like? Here are some ideas.

First, every Republican Senator and Representative should admit that they were wrong about Trump. They should say, “I was wrong about Trump. I should never have supported him. I was wrong. Sorry.” No weasel words.

That’s not going to happen, of course. What Republicans mean when they say we should come together as a country is that Democrats should abandon their ideals and ideas for a better democray and a better future for every citizen and instead, adopt Republican positions on everything. But I digress.

What do you think “healing” would look like?

2. It would be each and every election truther in any office state in public that they were lying

Clearly state the election was clean and fair. No voter fraud, no crimes - in fact, one of the most transparent, successful elections in a long time.

That is the only thing that would start to erode the cult.

3. The pessimist in me thinks there is NO healing

or bringing this country back together...mainly because we have NEVER been ONE. It's just that we are further apart now than we have ever been because of idiots putting a grifter and con man in the Oval Office.

The first stage of "healing" is evaluating the wound.

Folks not waking up every morning and turning on the news to see if the president has blown up the world.

6. I'm not anticipating miracles, but it is possible that the

Trump coalition will re-fragment, go their separate ways (in discouragement) and seep back into the fringes of society, this time with fewer platforms to operate on.

I absolutely would like to see any GOP/military/law enforcement who may have collaborated in the planning and execution of Wednesday's siege prosecuted and possibly expelled.

So that is not really healing. It's more like cutting out the scar tissue, burning away the parts of the tumor we can reach with radiation, and throwing them in the trash. Sorry if that sounds a little harsh. I've read too many psychiatrists say that "facts" and "reason" cannot change the minds of Trumpsters and nationalist fanatics (racist or religious).

11. Nor is it possible to "cure" personality disorders

Symptoms/ behavior is inextricably intertwined with personality.

This is why I advocate for life without parole for these & other violent offenders.

Each admitting they were complicit & enabled this recent and ongoing terrorist attack on our country by not convicting, removing, & preventing him from holding future office.

None of which will happen because they are all slithering scum.

Fully investigate, try & max sentences for all coconspirators. Those few remaining would form a non-hate based new party.

8. We should establish a standard for healing and not rely on republicans
