Panic buttons were inexplicably torn out ahead of Capitol riots, says Ayanna Pressley chief of staff
Source: The Independent
Panic buttons installed in Ayanna Pressley’s congressional office were torn out before rioters stormed the Capitol last week, her staff have said. Sarah Groh, who serves as Ms Pressley’s chief of staff, was with the congresswoman when president Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the US Capitol building last Wednesday. She told the Boston Globe that she had reached for the panic buttons installed in Ms Pressley’s office as they tried to barricade themselves in. But, when they went to press panic buttons, Ms Pressley’s staff saw that they weren’t there, and appeared to have been ripped out. “Every panic button in my office had been torn out - the whole unit,” Ms Groh told the paper. She added that she could not believe why the panic buttons were removed, and that Ms Pressley’s staff had used the panic buttons in the past, including during drills...CONTINUED... 44. If torn out prior to the insurrection
It would prevent recordings from being made in the first place.
Like panic buttons torn out before the event would prevent summoning assistance. |

49. I didn't see that either
I did see this.
---------- That’s New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez opening up in an Instagram Live video on Tuesday night about the “very close encounter” she had during the riots on Capitol Hill last week. She didn’t go into the details of what happened during the attacks, citing security concerns, but she did say that she thought “she was going to die” and that it was “traumatizing” as the insurrection, incited by President Trump, brought the violent mob to her place of work. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/aocs-traumatizing-encounter-at-the-capitol-i-did-not-know-if-i-was-going-to-make-it-11610549970?mod=hp_minor_pos19 It was certainly scary for the elected officials & others inside. |

8. And read this that was posted here a few days ago. Everything
was set up to allow an insurrection at the Capitol. It is obvious that the new people Trump set up in the DOD two days after the election were there to slow down police presence - on Jan 6th at least. It took 3 HOURS from the time that the Mayor of Washington called for the National Guard for any of them to reach the capitol. It was only after Pence called that they released the National Guard. Even Maryland and Virginia wanted to send their National Guard troops but they had to get permission from the DOD; which was not given until the next day!
https://tinyurl.com/y3l7yxfl The Department of Defense’s January 8, 2021 press release purports to “memorialize the planning and execution timeline” of the deadly insurrection that it calls the “January 6, 2021 First Amendment Protests in Washington, DC.”* The memo’s minute-by-minute account creates a false illusion of transparency. In truth, its most noteworthy aspects are the omission of Trump’s central role in the insurrection and the effort to shift blame away from Trump and his new Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller. Who is Christopher Miller? By November 9, every news organization declared that former Vice President Joe Biden had won the election. On that day, Trump fired Acting Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and replaced him with Miller, an Army retiree who worked for a defense contractor until Trump tapped him as his assistant in 2018. Miller’s promotion began a departmental regime change that embedded three fierce Trump loyalists as top Defense Department officials: Kash Patel (former aide to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA)), retired army Gen. Anthony Tata (pro-Trump Fox News pundit) and Ezra Cohen-Watnick (former assistant to Trump’s first national security adviser, Mike Flynn). At such a late date in Trump’s presidency, many asked why the shake-up at the Department of Defense? We may be learning the answer. Prior to the Attack The department’s January 8, 2021 memo ignores Trump’s central role in igniting and then encouraging the January 6 insurrection. In fact, the only reference to Trump appears in a January 3 entry, when Miller and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Milley meet with him and he concurs in activation of the DC National Guard “to support law enforcement.” |

20. Then why did Trump wait until Nov 9th to fire him? Why
did he wait until right after he lost the election to fire him? Unless Trump knew he couldn't control Esper.

at who was involved in the set up. What is clear from the DC AG is no one is immune from Justice in this thing. Justice department is going full out on investigations and indictments regardless of who the targets are.
Actually, I'm thinking of starting a pool on who in the Republican Congress critter ranks goes down first to criminal indictment. |

37. Would There Be Security Cameras
In her office that could have picked up who did this. It would have to be someone with security clearance to enter her office.
The big picture is looking grim as we have the one Congresswoman that on the 5th gave some of the rioters a tour so they would know where to go the next day. The Capitol Police that just stood aside to allow the rioters in. And now this. The evidence is piling up. A lot of inside help so this was a very serious breach. |
