I still believe that MoscowMitch will resign and retire soon and very soon

He won't have power and the party is about to devour itself - and he clearly is not well.
I wish he had to leave in disgrace but I'll take any departure.

The Republican party is fracturing. They're fucked. I'm thrilled!

If we could get the votes to nuke the filibuster, then yeah, he'd get out of there faster than you'd ever expect a turtle to move.

But he's done with the game. In fact he seems to be welcoming impeachment and might vote to convict himself, just because of that being hunted by Trump's stooges thing. I suspect Mitch has taken that kinda personal.

...and Mitch knows it already. If the party holds together there's no way the Trumpists go along with keeping him Senate leader, and if the party splits he might remain leader of his faction but it won't be the majority. Either way the glory days are behind him and he is old and his health is not looking good. I think he either resigns immediately after voting for impeachment as a final fuck you to the great T, or he waits a few months for cover then decides to "spend more time with his family."

He won’t have as much work to do since he won’t be Majority Leader. I think he’ll cruise through till the end of his term.

GOP Senators no longer hang on his every word and follow his directions blindly. The Trumpers and QLosers have zero respect for this old fossil. His days are numbered - both in the Senate and on earth.

His party is ripped apart, Liz Cheney on one side and Ted Cruz, Hawley, Gaetz on the other side.

But the idea of Josh Hawley becoming the senor senator from Missouri might be so repulsive to Mitch that he might just hang around and do nothing.
