If someone says "I just got caught up in the moment",
aren't they basically admitting that they have poor decision-making skills?

2. Getting caught up in the moment happens to me too.
I just scream profanities at the TV screen in the privacy of my own home. I don't travel across the country to participate in a fascist coup. That is what happens to people who let others do their thinking for them.

6. If they obeyed Trump, that's definitely evidence of poor decision-making skills!
I mean, seriously!

5. The last time I got caught up in the moment I adopted a rescue Main Coon.
We bonded in that non-jailhouse-bond way.

7. Many people in prison just got caught up in the moment
In his case, the moment was planned for weeks.
They got caught up in the moment like some of the Manson family got caught up in the moment. |

Look what they brought with them. Hard to imagine they just happened to have bull horns, pipes, rams, etc.

10. Some of these "caught up in the moment" people will have to explain why they had helmets, other
tactical gear, and why they brought that stuff all the way from their home to DC and wore it that day...
So among their poor decisions are their excuse choices. |

16. And why they drove or flew great distances with this gear to attack our govt
Plenty of time to rethink decision.
This was a premeditated conspiracy to overthrow our govt for dump & PUTIN. |

11. No, it means they're lying. Poor decision-making skills is getting lost on the way
from VA to NYC, encountering a mob by accident, and joining it to see what's happening. Reality is reading, at very least, social media plans for violent insurrection, including titillating promises of murdering politicians, and going to join in.

Republicans have had poor decision making skills for decades, because they are ONLY grifter frauds.

15. They also lacked situtional awareness
Would they have broken into a bank, a supermarket or someone else's home because they were "I just got caught up in the moment"?
You would think that their first question should have been is this legal? Lock them up! |

Couple of days & gotten on airplanes with ZERO intervention?
Fuck no. They would not have lived to walk out. Because money is more important than human lives, government or anything else to repukes. |

Jail time, multiple divorces, restraining orders, multiple job-firings, dishonorable military discharges, etc.

22. Many crimes are committed without much prior thought
I would guess murder, assault and trespassing are common examples.
As others have said, there is plenty of evidence that many planned the crimes. Travel is one indication. Bringing weapons is another. Then there are the confessions recorded prior to, during, and after Jan 6. Good luck saying it was spontaneous when you talked about revolution, murder and attacking the government. |

23. If they bought plane tickets, hotel reservations...
Packed suitcases, shipped weapons ahead to the hotel, stood in TSA lines, sat on a lengthy flight... This was definitely premeditated.
Caught up in the moment is bullshit. |
