Charged with 3 felonies. Sicknick may have been hit with this one, but was also beaten with a second fire extinguisher.

It was, oddly enough, a different incident of fire extinguisher hitting police!

(44,972 posts)At least that's what the hat is designed for. Anybody can buy the hat. The guy also had his last name written on the back of the hat.

(15,265 posts)regardless of who the hat was designated to represent.

(21,786 posts)I can't see someone having their name stitched or tagged onto a cap from an organisation they were never a member of.

(44,972 posts)The CDF letters on the hat are supposed to represent a Chicago Fire Department. But it's not an official hat of Chicago Fire Deparment.
Anybody can buy that hat, including someone from Chester Fire Department. The fire extinguisher throwing guy further modified that hat with his last name written on the back of it.

(21,786 posts)Jesus fuck. THIS is for the Chicago Fire Department (same thing in multiple Ebay listings and on various websites):
I don't see why you'd try to argue that "CFD" in a different style of lettering has to stand for "Chicago" when this guy was retired from the CHESTER fire department (also initialised as "CFD" .

(35,694 posts)will be forthcoming after more investigation. You don't want to jump the gun with the heavy stuff and not have it stick for lack of evidence.

(244 posts)Why are they carrying around all these fire extinguishers? Those things are heavy. Its not exactly the first thing I would pack when going to a protest. Unless, of course, youre expecting to be around fires.

(26,315 posts)Probably knows this guy is a major league jagoff.
The tipster relayed to the FBI in an interview that Mr. Sanford had told his friend that he had traveled to Washington, D.C., with a group of people on a bus, that the group had gone to the White House and listened to President Trumps speech and then had followed the Presidents instructions and gone to the Capitol, the statement said.

(44,972 posts)From Chester FD.

(51,308 posts)Exactly my point.

(44,972 posts)I never believed it was the correct person. There was a decent resemblance in the face but the one from Chicago looked to be much taller and bigger.

(51,308 posts)Again, my point exactly.
This ID by social media is bad news.

(44,972 posts)But when videos and photos are released, and FBI is asking for help, there are bound to be wrongly identified, unfortunately.

(51,308 posts)I feel very badly for those who get caught up in these modern day witch hunts.
Also yesterday, DU told me that the fire extinguisher incident being shown is the one that killed Sicknick, which it is NOT.
DU posters used to take pride in posting verifiable information back in the day. I see that less and less these days.
