5. This was not the Sicknick incident

This incident did not involve Officer Brian Sicknick, who was separately hit in the head by rioters with a fire extinguisher during the mayhem. Sicknick, who later succumbed to his wounds, was one of five people who died last Wednesday. The other four were pro-Trump protesters, including Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, who was fatally shot by a police officer after attempting to break into the Speaker’s Lobby.

It was, oddly enough, a different incident of fire extinguisher hitting police!

At least that's what the hat is designed for. Anybody can buy the hat. The guy also had his last name written on the back of the hat.

I can't see someone having their name stitched or tagged onto a cap from an organisation they were never a member of.

The CDF letters on the hat are supposed to represent a Chicago Fire Department. But it's not an official hat of Chicago Fire Deparment.
Anybody can buy that hat, including someone from Chester Fire Department. The fire extinguisher throwing guy further modified that hat with his last name written on the back of it.

Jesus fuck. THIS is for the Chicago Fire Department (same thing in multiple Ebay listings and on various websites):

I don't see why you'd try to argue that "CFD" in a different style of lettering has to stand for "Chicago" when this guy was retired from the CHESTER fire department (also initialised as "CFD&quot .

will be forthcoming after more investigation. You don't want to jump the gun with the heavy stuff and not have it stick for lack of evidence.

Why are they carrying around all these fire extinguishers? Those things are heavy. It’s not exactly the first thing I would pack when going to a protest. Unless, of course, you’re expecting to be around fires.

Probably knows this guy is a major league jagoff.

A friend of Mr. Sanford’s tipped off the FBI to his involvement, the document said, adding that he was around 55-years old and had recently retired from the Chester Fire Department.

The tipster relayed to the FBI in an interview that Mr. Sanford had told his friend that he had traveled to Washington, D.C., with a group of people on a bus, that the group had gone to the White House and listened to President Trump’s speech “and then had followed the President’s instructions and gone to the Capitol,” the statement said.

I never believed it was the correct person. There was a decent resemblance in the face but the one from Chicago looked to be much taller and bigger.

But when videos and photos are released, and FBI is asking for help, there are bound to be wrongly identified, unfortunately.

I feel very badly for those who get caught up in these modern day witch hunts.

Also yesterday, DU told me that the fire extinguisher incident being shown is the one that killed Sicknick, which it is NOT.

DU posters used to take pride in posting verifiable information back in the day. I see that less and less these days.
