I woke up with a sore arm, but it only hurts with direct pressure.

So far, it doesn't hurt enough to take a pain killer. It doesn't hurt at all just sitting or walking around doing daily routines.

putting ice pack on the vaccination site (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) for three or four hours, starting as soon as you get home, helps with swelling and soreness.

I've had some really bad swelling/soreness from senior dose of flu vaccine (like, wrist to shoulder puffed up like Michelin Man and lobster red); I now request regular dose, which is fine, just a little sore for a day. I'm a bit nervous about getting the Covid vaccine, but intend to do it anyway if it ever becomes available here. I will try to get it at my doctor's so that I can wait an hour or so to see if reaction occurs.

But early application of ice is not a bad idea for everyone. You can use a bag of frozen peas if you don't have a flexible ice bag.

both health care workers in Denver, just received their second doses.

My elderly mother in Mississippi just received her first dose.

I don’t expect to get vaccinated until late in the year or possibly in 2022.

Then I can go to a megasite and get vaccinated.

I don't expect that to happen this month.

got a vaccine shot yesterday and she is in the "healthy everybody else" category, even though she's not an essential worker.

Why?

Because she works for the state and state workers (some of whom ARE essential, like police) get the vaccine anyway.

First dose was fine. I look at it that this proves it will work, even for little while. Pfizer. Arm is super sore it his time because she gave it too high and hit a tendon.

Hope that your arm won't hurt as much the second time.

I was told that after the second Pfizer dose it would be another two weeks before the vaccine would be fully effective. Even then, we should still continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.
