Have any others here or your relatives been vaccinated?
Our local city hospital provides the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for those aged 65 and over.

(2,909 posts)arm hurt ? My sister got hers and she says her arm hurts really bad.
I woke up with a sore arm, but it only hurts with direct pressure.
So far, it doesn't hurt enough to take a pain killer. It doesn't hurt at all just sitting or walking around doing daily routines.

(18,402 posts)putting ice pack on the vaccination site (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) for three or four hours, starting as soon as you get home, helps with swelling and soreness.
I've had some really bad swelling/soreness from senior dose of flu vaccine (like, wrist to shoulder puffed up like Michelin Man and lobster red); I now request regular dose, which is fine, just a little sore for a day. I'm a bit nervous about getting the Covid vaccine, but intend to do it anyway if it ever becomes available here. I will try to get it at my doctor's so that I can wait an hour or so to see if reaction occurs.
But early application of ice is not a bad idea for everyone. You can use a bag of frozen peas if you don't have a flexible ice bag.

(2,769 posts)got a vaccine shot yesterday and she is in the "healthy everybody else" category, even though she's not an essential worker.
Why?
Because she works for the state and state workers (some of whom ARE essential, like police) get the vaccine anyway.

(8,360 posts)Hope that your arm won't hurt as much the second time.
I was told that after the second Pfizer dose it would be another two weeks before the vaccine would be fully effective. Even then, we should still continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.
