Received my first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Have any others here or your relatives been vaccinated?

Our local city hospital provides the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for those aged 65 and over.

9. Yes.

I woke up with a sore arm, but it only hurts with direct pressure.

So far, it doesn't hurt enough to take a pain killer. It doesn't hurt at all just sitting or walking around doing daily routines.

13. I've found that

putting ice pack on the vaccination site (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) for three or four hours, starting as soon as you get home, helps with swelling and soreness.

I've had some really bad swelling/soreness from senior dose of flu vaccine (like, wrist to shoulder puffed up like Michelin Man and lobster red); I now request regular dose, which is fine, just a little sore for a day. I'm a bit nervous about getting the Covid vaccine, but intend to do it anyway if it ever becomes available here. I will try to get it at my doctor's so that I can wait an hour or so to see if reaction occurs.

But early application of ice is not a bad idea for everyone. You can use a bag of frozen peas if you don't have a flexible ice bag.

8. My brother and sister-in-law

both health care workers in Denver, just received their second doses.

My elderly mother in Mississippi just received her first dose.

I donít expect to get vaccinated until late in the year or possibly in 2022.

He says that it's really nothing to worry about and that everyone should take it.

12. My clinic said they would contact me when it's time.

Then I can go to a megasite and get vaccinated.

I don't expect that to happen this month.

14. Arkansas will start vaccinating those over the age of 70 next week. I've got my name on the list,

but I haven't received an appointment yet. My sister lives in OK and got her first jab last week.

15. I'm in the over 65 group..... well over, I might add. But my daughter

got a vaccine shot yesterday and she is in the "healthy everybody else" category, even though she's not an essential worker.

Why?

Because she works for the state and state workers (some of whom ARE essential, like police) get the vaccine anyway.

18. Got second dose yesterday. Feeling hit by a truck.

First dose was fine. I look at it that this proves it will work, even for little while. Pfizer. Arm is super sore it his time because she gave it too high and hit a tendon.

27. Please let us know how it goes for you.

Hope that your arm won't hurt as much the second time.

I was told that after the second Pfizer dose it would be another two weeks before the vaccine would be fully effective. Even then, we should still continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.
