Mine was deposited in my checking account but my daughter, who's been staying with me since March, hasn't received her check. The IRS site says it was supposed to be mailed on January 6. We're in the Chicago burbs. Has this been happening to others here? She's getting worried.
Thanks

(1,648 posts)IRS site says scheduled to be mailed 1/6, but nothing so far and nothing further.
I am curious how many Republican voters will return the $600. Since they strongly do not believe the gov't should be giving people hand-outs and think that people just need to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and take responsibility for their own lives.

(3,334 posts)had their checks mailed on January 6th. Neither has gotten their check yet. They got their first stimulus checks okay and neither has had a change of address.

(824 posts)It seems the IRS website suggests the mail is running very slow (no idea why that is happening ) and the checks may be in process for 4-6 weeks from the day the IRS said it was mailed.

(23,293 posts)Having an effect. If your daughter is going to be with you awhile, maybe she should go the direct deposit route. That seems to function.

(17,757 posts)We filed our income taxes, by snail mail on the last day, the IRS hasn't processed it yet, and they say we will not get the payment until they get around to processing the return. Who knows when it will arrive. I am patient when waiting on free money....

(1,495 posts)I just got a bill yesterday that was mailed 3 weeks ago. It's a good thing I pay online or the payment would be very late if I had to wait for the bill to arrive!

(19,348 posts)I think I read where cks showing mailed might take 3 or 4 weeks to get there.

(14,374 posts)The Post Office is hopelessly behind.
I also insured the package. I tried to make an insurance claim more than a week ago. They acknowledged they received it and sent me a satisfaction survey on the outcome (which has not been addressed at all).
Don't get your hopes up.

(8,024 posts)might be legit. To many, they are sending out debit cards instead of checks (we got a check last time) or direct deposits. Looks like a lot of the marketing items for loans, so I imagine some people are just throwing them out. But I checked on line and it appears to be real. Need to set up an account then transfer the money to your bank, or just use as a debit card.

(140,663 posts)because apparently many people thought they were junk mail and threw them out. They are supposedly being mailed in white envelopes with clearly marked "Department of the Treasury" on the envelope.

(1,235 posts)If GMP reflects a date your payment was mailed, it may take up to 3-4 weeks for you to receive the payment. Watch your mail carefully for a check or debit card.
