What do we make of McConnell right now?

There have been a lot of rumors but not much in the way of official news on what McConnell is up to right now. On the one hand, he's clearly a lying slime ball. But on the other I genuinely believe he hates Trump and knows Trump tried to have him killed by his MAGA terrorist attack on the Capitol.

Now we have reports that McConnell is happy Trump got impeached and wants to purge the party of Trumpism. However, he also won't fast track the impeachment trial.

So what's Mcconnell up fo right now?

If he does the right thing in relation to Trump and the Senate trial then I don't really care what his motivations are. However, I'm not seeing much evidence he's planning on doing the right thing in the first place. I was hoping after the MAGA attack that he would use his influence and power to help root out Trumpism but I probably should never wait around for McConnell to step up.

He is only interested in power and driving his demented conservative agenda, primarily by annointing unqualified extreme right wing judges. He is one evil force in American politics . Second only to tRump but intelligent.

He keeps his hands clean on managing the trial, and puts off making his judgment for as long as possible to see how the MAGAts respond.

Then at least he doesn't have to be the one who twice let him get away with no convictions.

Senate races and taking away his majority position.

Even if he voted to impeach it would not be for the right reasons .

If he was still majority leader he wouldn't be doing anything other than denying people help.

Stuff is happening so fast his head is spinning. He can't figure what side to cozy up to so he can reclaim his raw and naked power to grabbing the levers of government from Pelosi, Schumer, or trDump.

Dotard incites terrorists on 1/6
Dems move to impeach him
Turtle says he thinks it’s a good thing and will bring a vote, and may himself vote to convict. This would imply b4 the inauguration
Dotard puts out a video with a lame but sufficient back down
Next day turtle is mum
Following day turtle says he isn’t going to call the senate back and says he will have to hear the evidence b4 deciding whether to convict

Turtle’s first statement put dotard in the exact place he wanted him. Next day, comes turtle’s weaker statement, doesn’t completely withdraw the threat but rather keeps him in check.

Turtle wants him quiet for the remaining time so as not to further damage republican senators. Bottom line, turtle is protecting himself, he wants to be back in power come 2022 and needs every gop senator there.

To me, very predictable

tRump did not concede, or say Biden won fair and square. McConnell could be putting the Dems in the bullseye again, what is really going to happen if the Senate does NOT follow through again. Is this a very dangerous time, we got traitors in the Congress, we got White Domestic terrorists

and take all blame so he can continue to manipulate the GOP media and voters. I’ll bet he doesn’t vote to convict or he’ll be absent for medical reasons.

If he had proceeded to remove Trump immediately, I think he may have deserved a bit of credit to be set alongside all the harm he's done.

Now that he's apparently doing nothing, we make of him the same. In a week, all he'll be is another Senate Minority Leader and, as such, is not even worth thinking about.
