We just got our COVID-19 vaccine #1 (Moderna). We drove two counties away, which is no big deal in SC, to an Engles' Pharmacy in Easley (SC8 - Pelzer Road). We were finished before the 6 pm appointment time.
We picked up a few items in the grocery section to kill the 15 minute post-injection observation requirement, and then headed home. Shot #2 scheduled for February 11 - same time, same station.
A neighbor encountered hundreds of people getting the vaccine at a local hospital today. We encountered five.

(4,244 posts)appointment for us two seniors in So Cal. I finally got through to Kaiser and they said they're only giving it to health care workers. I told them that they really need to update their hotline, which hasn't been updated since 1/9/21. I gently reminded the young lady that today is 1/14/21, and much has happened in the past 5 days (our Governor has included 65 and older to those currently eligible.) All very confusing.
I've called CVS, etc. I guess I'll be doing this for the next few days. I'll take any vaccine available.

(4,244 posts)**The County of San Diego is not providing COVID-19 vaccinations for individuals 65 years and older at this time. The recent announcement by the State gives the option for healthcare providers to offer the vaccine to 65+ individuals if they have doses available. You may call your healthcare provider to see if they are offering the vaccine. **
I added this for other San Diego seniors trying to make sense of the distribution.

(1,896 posts)Can you actually feel the chip? Seriously, this has to be a great relief for you. I'm sure I'll be near the end of the line but I can't wait to at least feel somewhat normal again.
