Tax cuts for wealthy/corporations were made permanent. Those for everyone else expire in 2025 Freethinker65 Jan 2021 #5
In laws, nothing is "permanent." moose65 Jan 2021 #6
Exactly! But they were enacted without an expiration date, unlike GOP tax cuts to most others Freethinker65 Jan 2021 #7

most of the tax cuts expire in 2025. Maybe, if the deficit topic comes up and it will, suggest moving the expiration date to 2021. Works for me, since the 2017 tax bill primarily benefitted the uppers.

Speaking of taxes, I wonder how people are seeing their payroll taxes double with their 2021 paychecks. The republicans will probably try to blame it on Biden, although it was Trump who made the decision to temporarily freeze paying the payroll tax.

With proper messaging (Democrats are not really good at this), case could be made for fairness alone to have ALL tax cuts expire at same time. Replace with a fairer tax policy.

Democrats should be able to make an easy case for changing it so all the tax cuts expire at the same time. Set a new fair tax policy for ALL.
