National Mall closes Friday for inauguration amid threats of violence

The National Mall will be closed to the public from Friday through Jan. 21, the National Park Service said.

The Mall will be closed to pedestrians, bicyclists and vehicles from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial in response to continued threats of violence surrounding the inauguration.
