13. Well, a lot of NHLers will probably get them before Americans do.

But, only because they are either Canadian citizens, or play in Canada. Canada didn't fuck up their vaccine distribution, like Trump fucked it up for the USA. They're not going to jump ahead in the line, though.

That being said, we're all stuck at home. And, having sports will make the lockdown far more bearable. I would not protest the athletes jumping ahead in line some, just so they are protected while they entertain the rest of us. Just as long as healthcare workers, first responders, and the most vulnerable go first. And, I'm sure the vast majority of those guys wouldn't have it any other way, either. As far as the hockey players go, I suspect they're probably all horrified at Barkley's comments.

15. Not because of Taxes, But Mental Health

The idea of "because of taxes paid", turns my stomach.

I do believe that if the NBA plays, it helps with the Mental Health of the nation.
Almost a semi-essential worker. But pretty far down the list of who should get it first, IMO.
The Coaches and Players might only come to a couple of thousand Vaccines.

The major problem with that idea is that the vaccine is not proven to prevent infection.
So, it may not help them congregate, without being spreaders, as much as thought.

Vaccinate the spreaders, to stop the spread. Vaccinate NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB. Vaccinate college athletes. Vaccinate spring-breakers, fraternity and sorority members. Vaccinate Trump rally attendees. Vaccinate anyone not wearing a mask. Vaccinate anyone in a red hat.

Hit the virus where it spreads.

I think there might be some logic behind this, even though I hate the idea of rewarding bad behavior.
