Today was a dark day in the history of the United States Capitol. But thanks to the swift efforts of U.S. Capitol Police, federal, state and local law enforcement, the violence was quelled. The Capitol is secured, and the people's work continues.

21. I actually thought his words at that point were spot on.

I also read that after the capitol was cleared, security was looking for somewhere else to reconvene the session and Pence insisted that it had to be at the capitol to show the strength of the government.

Pence has been smacked down by Trump but he has committed to attend the inauguration and today he call Harris to congratulate her.
