About the Republican Party being ..."Dead"..It won't happen & hasn't happened..

The reason is very simple. The money and people behind the Republican Party won't let it die. The rich
and powerful behind it,,maybe...maybe.... "will change the name to protect the innocents " (taken from
a TV SHOW--"DRAGNET)..

....but it won't die...It may look dead for a while, but they will bring it back, because their power and
authority need to be represented they believe...The rich and those powerful behind the
party, will make it come back in one way or another..I might add with lots and lots of money...more
than enough to bring back to whatever those rich and powerful people want to call it...

...They said that the Democratic Party was..."..Dead.." after the McGovern loss in 1972....It looked that
way for a short time, but do you know who was elected President of the United States in 1976?...
A Democratic candidate named ...Jimmy Carter...that is who...Our party was not ...dead..and neither is the
Republican Party.
...........Yes, they may change the name, but it ain't going to die........(see above paragraph)....and if
you believe that lie about the ...PUKE Party being dead....just wait and see,,.. till the end of this movie
about the PUKE Party....It ain't over till it is over...&...It AIN'T OVER AT ALL.

1. I can't imagine them recovering in time for the 2022 elections.

Maybe not even the 2024 elections. Maybe I'm wrong, this should scar them for at least a decade. On top of that you have the continuation of the changing demographics in the country.

2. The Senate is stacked against us and they will gerrymander again.

Don't kid yourselves, the Republicans are like a bad penny.

7. Never underestimate a strong opponent...It may take some time, but any long lived party has time..

...They said the Republican Party was dead because FDR had so many terms..Who came after Harry Truman
in 52?...A Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower. Never underestimate an opponent..
History is full of that..Russia looked pretty dead when Hitler invaded in 1940..Germans got pretty close to Moscow..is that correct?...(within a few miles?)
...In 1945 when Germany fell, guess who was in Berlin when that happened...Russia & U.S.A & the rest of
the allies. No, I did not make that up...Never underestimate your opponent...NEVER!!!...
...Too many more examples......Check out the history of strong opponents making comebacks...

13. Imagine it

Remember our landslide of 2008, and then the Citizens United decision of 2010, and the subsequent midterm disasters of 2010 and 2014.

They'll recover and then some. The time to let down our guard is never, but especially not now.

It would also be a good idea to not do them the favor of falling into the usual "us vs. them" clichés that they always use to point fingers at us. Some like to rail at the "rich" and at "capitalists" or "corporatists (whatever that is)," instead of those who in fact are our common enemies: the fearmongers, the religious exploiters, and their media propaganda outlets. Their propagandists use words like "liberals" and socialists" to make enemies out of us in much the same way, and they are good at it. There is a reason we see so many posts saying, "I never DREAMED that this person was such a Trumper," etc. Why does that happen? Because there isn't (or, rather, shouldn't be) such a huge difference between us. That has to be manufactured (remember Göring spilling the beans on the subject).

Beware those who, as LBJ so presciently noted, will always have success if they convince massive numbers of voters that all be well if only they believe that there is someone lower than they are.

3. I agree. They lost for now and maybe the near future but there will still

be enough of them elected to office to muck up the works. As long as our electorate remains ignorant and inside the right wing media bubble, they will continue to vote for the Republicans. We just have to hope that there are more of us than there are of them who turn out to vote.

They come up screaming like zombies.

5. I'll settle for no republicans elected to the presidency for the rest of my life.

And if we could winnow down the ones in the senate and the house to an irrelevant minority, that would be nice.

I think for a few years anyway, there’s going to be a significant amount of (hopefully paralyzing) infighting going on. Unfortunately, whatever survives the upcoming conflagration will be a problem when it emerges. Not looking forward to that.

Regrettably, we will fail to plan and prepare, fighting amongst ourselves as we always do. 2024 will kick us right in the nuts, and we will act surprised.

6. They are a party at war with themselves

They are split evenly in the house now with the minority leader sitting on th we fence,.
The senate has only a handful willing to buck McConnell but, McConnell has been weakened.
Trump is gone. Approval at 29% and after inauguration will fall further. He has no Twitter or Facebook to distort or distract the truth of covid, the insurgent investigations , and the ‘24 wannabes certsuly don’t want him being the king maker and dictating each of their moves and decisions.
They have no leader and no platform. You have republicans being ruled by craziness and an alternative reality with conspiracy theories, then there are the “moderates” that want to be shed of this crowd, but that is more than half of their votes.
Evangelicals don’t know where to turn, not sure who’s voice they have been hearing in their dreams.
They may not be dead, but they are hurting badly and it will get much worse before it gets better for them.

10. They always come back stronger and worse intentioned.

Because there’s never any accountability. Nixon gets pardoned, they don’t impeach Reagan/Bush, they don’t prosecute W and they’re not going to punish this asshole properly. The next time they win is going to be the end of it all if some serious changes aren’t made. They’ve normalized sedition.
