there is one woman in our activist group who still wears the hat. She is ninety-one, and still an effective precinct committee person.

We are not out of the woods yet. When Joe passes the torch to Kamala and she runs in 3 years, we are going to have to move heaven and earth to get her elected. Racists are not going to disappear tomorrow and repukes will have had just enough time to reinvent themselves and run a savvier fascist than tRump.

It seems to me that hat represents an era for you, and others. With Biden becoming President, putting it down to symbolically show the passage of one era to the next is a good thing.
