(2,951 posts)You could ring it 46 times for the 46th President, or possibly 20 times for Jan. 20th, or 12 times just for a round number. Just don't ring it 7 times, because that's for funerals. I don't think there is a set number of rings for other occasions, but I might be wrong.

(1,118 posts)At some point after we installed an electric water pump, my grandfather took the bell down. My sister had it hanging in her yard for many years. After her death, I took custody of the bell.
