I don’t particularly care for their psychological profiling and such but it keeps me in touch with family and allows me to join groups of people who have similar interests as me.

7. That's a good reason for sure. I'm sure people enjoy FB for lots of different reasons

and your reason is as good as any. I wasn't trying to diminish FB, just mentioning the main 2 reasons why I use it.
