(13,913 posts)my mid 70's mother in law still wears them to keep her hair in place. It's chic & young! And i think she's in an interesting outfit!
GopherGal
(2,944 posts)Keeps my hair out of my face, thereby minimizing the face-touching.
But I'm not claiming it's fashionable.
Maybe it's a tribute to Hillary:

The coat is maybe a little prairie. (Not a bad thing, just a unique esthetic.)

(43,850 posts)It was meant as a descriptor. Its a style.
KatyMan
(4,353 posts)You probably should have typed "who is the child who is dressed in a prairie style" instead of "who is the prairie looking child".
You would not say "who is the diabetic kid" would you. You would say who is the child who has diabetes.
it is not correct to define the person with a label. (descriptor)
nolabear
(43,850 posts)So, no Whos that little red-haired girl? No Whos the fashionista next to her? You object to the term for some reason, and thats fine.
KatyMan
(4,353 posts)She has on an outfit. You chose to describe the person, not the outfit. This is not a difficult or controversial concept. And yes, I would say who is the little girl with red hair, not the red haired girl.
KatyMan
(4,353 posts)What exactly is "prairie looking"? Even if this child was not the daughter of VP Harris, the term sound like you are denigrating her. We are better than that. No need to use that sort of descriptor for anyone.
nolabear
(43,850 posts)I dressed prairie a time or two in my youth. And I had no idea who she was so I could hardly have been denigrating her.
KatyMan
(4,353 posts)You did not say "who is the child dressed in the prairie style coat". You said "who is the prairie looking child". Completely different. Sorry that you cannot see the distinction.
nolabear
(43,850 posts)If id said hippie looking would that have been wrong? Maybe you think so. To me its a descriptor.

spinbaby
(15,403 posts)Many men, including Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, had masks that werent quite big enough to give coverage from the bridge of the nose to the bottom of the chin. And lots of people were tugging on sagging masks. On the other hand, some were double masked, which I heartily approve of.

(3,379 posts)I'm not much of a big belt person. Sometimes it works. She looked so beautiful, though.
PatSeg
(53,406 posts)the big belts make her look much too short-waisted. She is fortunate to have those amazing long legs, but the big belts work better on people who have a long torso. I love that the outfit wasn't a dress, but still looked formal. She has great taste, I just don't like the belts.
GoCubsGo
(34,981 posts)It's mainly the buckle I hate. Way too big. A thinner belt and buckle would have been better. But, she still looked stunning!

(13,913 posts)FLOTUS Dr. Biden's tweed bluish/teal is sooo sooo beautiful on her, the purple outfits of Kamala & Hillary were gorgeous, royal and HAPPY color, and the regal burgundy of Mrs. O just perfection.
