Kittycow
(2,396 posts)but she really nailed it! I loved her dress too; she probably didn't have to worry too much about social distancing with that volume of her skirt

(73,827 posts)she is severely disabled. her spine is a mess. there is a metal cage under that dress.
Kittycow
(2,396 posts)The cold must have been killing her, if she has arthritis mixed in with her spinal problems. What a trooper!
mopinko
(73,827 posts)and yet she sings like that.

(2,396 posts)I'm a severe chronic pain sufferer myself. What a great role model.

(43,287 posts)She really meant it. She wasn't there as an entertainer. She was there as an American.
Yes, Lady Gaga's appearance was great -- everything about it: her dress, how nervous (or awed) she seemed as she walked down the stairs, her voice (wow, her voice!), awesome.

(35,362 posts)the way she extended that phrase was
magnificent!
Ramsey Barner
(669 posts)She made that phrase the centerpiece of the song, rather than "Land of the Free...." She changed the melody to further emphasize the point. Wow.
NNadir
(38,340 posts)...I will say she has a very powerful voice.
llmart
(17,681 posts)She is a very kind-hearted, caring person. The quirky outfits she used to wear was all most people heard about her, but I've listened to several podcasts with people interviewing her and she's highly intelligent and very articulate. She did a PBS special with Tony Bennett that introduced me to her singing. I was blown away.

Pathetic.

llmart
(17,681 posts)All the stress and tension of the past four years and having a madman in charge of our country vanished as I listened to her rendition. Lady Gaga's voice is incredible and she is truly a kind-hearted soul. So fitting that she sang the anthem for our new President.
