I would tell Mc, either we get this done here and very soon, or we are just going to have the AG look at Trump and all of his support systems within the House and Senate, and get a real trial going. We have two years of power, it is time for us to be the ones pushing the Republicans around for a change. Sooner or later they will one something for their big donors and we may have to tell them, "Oh, I think we need to put that off for a while." Power is not worth a damn if it is not used.

If we force a quick trial, the Republicans will be forced to make a stand, either supporting sedition or voting to convict. If they want to acquit Trump, so be it, but make them vote while the memories of 1/6 are fresh.

You had a week to start the impeachment trial, but no, you couldn't be bothered to decide whether the President of the United States was guilty of incitement to insurrection. Just like back in February, you couldn't be bothered to listen to any witnesses or consider any evidence when Trump was impeached the first time.

What's your incentive for the Democrats to listen to you and do what you want? You have an unbroken record of fecklessness in the Senate, and nobody with two working brain cells should trust you.
