paid for the setup of the speech Trump gave when he told the crowd to go to the Capitol. Jones admitted to it. I think he said he paid half a million dollars for it. He's constantly saying crazy shit on his show, talking about staged school shootings and other government conspiracies. There are a lot of gullible people out there who believe all of it.

It gives them a chance to feel like they're better than the powerful and famous people. It also feeds their desire to blame their failures on the misdeeds of people in high places. They think they've been lied to because government keeps secrets, so they figure there must be some huge conspiracy to keep this knowledge from the common people. So they fantasize that there is a hidden death cult that commits every abomination imaginable. It's a wicked, sinful world and Satan has his grip on the beautiful, the talented, and the powerful.

10. DU had a 9/11 forum for over a decade

Ok, this is going from memory. It was either a forum or group dedicated specifically to 9/11 truthers or it was just the main topic in the creative speculation group (where people used to be told to go to talk about conspiracy theories).

There was literally a debate between MIHOP (made it happen on purpose) and LIHOP (let it happen on purpose). Constant posts about BFEE and steel beams and all sorts of other trash. I forget when it died down but certainly after the 2016 election, when a lot of the conspiracy nuts went all in on clinton conspiracies were booted from the site.

The main poster was held in high esteem around here, inexplicably, and was a prototypical example of the kind of half baked "do you own research" that everybody's come to know and dread these last few years.
