8. Sadly Pluto was downgraded by the International Astronomical Union (IAU)

The excuses they used for downgrading Pluto were weak, so my suspicion is that Pluto wasn't paying Union dues or worse yet, was working as a scab. We know that Pluto sometimes does work inside Neptune's area so that might be what happened.
