I had been thinking of stopping the posting of these threads, on the grounds of what's so interesting about someone who gets up in the morning, goes to work, breaks for lunch, goes back to work, stops for the day, has some dinner, and goes to bed?
It turns out that people are reading these, so I guess I'll keep going for a while.
There's a typo this morning. Factbase refers to Sunday's schedule. They've removed the tags for Trump's property, so they'll get to this too.
It's just as well that Biden is not a golfer, as it is cold and blustery in DC this morning. If he or Harris go anywhere, they'll have to dress like Bernie.

(69,757 posts)840a: Scattered snow showers and flurries have pushed south into parts of the immediate DC area and eastern suburbs. This should all clear out by mid morning with increasing sunshine but windy and cold.

I haven't seen anything in Alexandria. We had snow flurries at noon on Wednesday and on Monday afternoon too.

(169,533 posts)Lauren Boebert Faces $5,000 Fine after Setting off Capitol Metal Detector: Report
Tom Batchelor 1 day ago
Pro-gun Republican lawmaker Lauren Boebert reportedly set off a metal detector and refused to comply with US Capitol Police Thursday, leaving her facing a possible $5,000 fine.
The newly elected Colorado congresswoman, an ardent support of former President Donald Trump who campaigned on a conservative platform that included fierce opposition to gun control, was said to have ignored a new requirement for representatives and senators to pass through a scanner inside the Capitol building.
Journalist Hugo Lovell tweeted: "House Republican Lauren Boebert now sets off the metal detector and refuses to comply with US Capitol Police, waking into the chamber [sic]. "USCP not making a big deal but $5,000 fine comes out of member's pay." Newsweek contacted Boebert's team for comment.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced earlier this month that lawmakers would be fined if they refused to go through metal detectors to enter the House chamber after an angry mob of extremists supporting Trump's false claims that the presidential election was "stolen" stormed the building. A first offense will result in $5,000 deducted from a lawmaker's Congressional pay, while a second offense comes with a $10,000 fine.

(15,423 posts)criminal charges. It will come out in the impeachment trial.
I don't know what got into the people on Colorado's Western Slope. Yes, many are conservative, but Boebert has brought shame upon herself, the people who voted her in to office, and the people of Colorado in general. She is a dirtbag, crazier than a hoot owl.
What I most hope, BumRush, is that the people who vote these idiots into office stop thinking it is fun to send someone like this into the mix at DC. It's not. How can Congress do its actual job with people like Boebert, Gosar, Gohmert and the like. These people are mouth-frothing morons.

(169,533 posts)as we've seen in a number of states now, that there is a large contingent of "disengaged" people who SHOULD be voting but they have thrown their hands up because they are tired of the "noise". What it took in GA to bring about not one but two Senate wins - and during what would normally be an very low turnout election (a run-off and a special election) meant literal door-to-door badgering, constantly, almost non-stop (plus robocalls, emails and texts and the expected ads). But it worked. And that is going to have to happen just about everywhere going forward in order to get our "base" out to begin to get rid of the loons.

(15,423 posts)She said we need to do some 'deep canvassing' around our platform issues.
I totally agree with that, because until we have a new Fairness Doctrine, if ever, the only way to break into that low-information bubble is to educate people. That takes all of us.
Personally, I comment heavily on articles in my local newspaper, and there is a new app called NextDoor, and it has a political group. I comment in there as well. In the context of my employment, I also release reports that, at least sometimes, inform discussion at the local level. I also routinely communicate with my members of Congress. I'm working on doing that more at the local level.
I am sure many, many others on this site do the same, and certainly a lot of people saw the herculean efforts of Stacey Abrams and her colleagues in GA, and are going to work in their own states to emulate that.
You know, I've been watching MSNBC - just because it is so comfortable for me - doesn't grate on my confirmation bias - and they are covering the federal government heavily, almost blow by blow. Wish Fox would do that. If these 'news' outlets were required to present news factually, and to present all sides of issues when engaged in in-depth reporting, it would be a happy thing.
Really beefing up civics, rhetoric, and American history classes in K-12 would help, too.

(13,832 posts)IF it were possible to get an actual schedule of what he did and not what his enablers wanted us to think he did. I know there were many days when he supposedly had meetings yet all he did was play golf.
In any case, it'd be great to compare the workload of the Pretender in Chief to the Commander in Chief.

(15,423 posts)is that Biden actually has, and follows, a WORK schedule, instead of just jotting down a few things and goofing off like Trump did.
Biden is doing very well so far, I think.
