Thank you, Eric Swalwell. You are by far one of the most courageous people in Congress.

You double downed on Trump right from the beginning, never letting up for a minute, always fighting the good fight.

You irked the NRA so much with your gun control efforts that it resulted in countless death threats to you, one of them in a vicious voicemail that you received. Your responded immediataley by telling them you weren't afraid of that guy or the NRA. No matter how hard they tried, they could not intimidate you into silence.

You have gone after Trump with a vengeance, and you are continuing to do so as we speak. It's no small wonder that the GOP attacks you so much.

The bravery, the integrity, & the love for your country that defines you is is the exact opposite of cowards like Trump, Cruz, Hawley, Graham, and their ilk.

Thank you for always standing up for us and for what is right. And for never backing down. Without you and all the other Democrats who fought so hard for so long, we might not be in the position we are in today.

Someday when Nancy retires, I hope you are given some serious consideration for the post of House Speaker. Same for Adam Schiff, another one who is cut out of the same mold as you. And of course, Katie Porter, as well.

They have brains, yes, and they have courage, yes, and they also have the ability so communicate so clearly that even Republicans have to work hard to misunderstand the message.

Booker, Swalwell, Schiff, Jayapal, Leiu so many!

Waiting in the wings. I'm not patient, with the issues so very fundamental to democracy.

He knows the law and he knows how politics works. I like that he's not "addicted" to Twitter or engaging in Twitter-wars or Twitter-feuds or other types of meaningless grandstanding and empty showboating. He knows what he's doing and he doesn't need the approval of a fan-club to keep his focus.

I don't know if he was at any time being considered by Biden as a potential running mate, but I would have been pleased with that choice. I really like that he knew WHEN it was the right time to withdraw from the race so that the reasonable and moderate voters could coalesce around Biden (rather than splitting the moderate vote in so many directions). He and others made the right choice at the perfect time.

He's loyal to the party and he understands that being divisive and "eating our own" serves no good purpose in the long run. Honestly, I see great things for him. He has a very bright future. I hope I live long enough to enjoy watching it play out for him, and our nation.

In your post, you mentioned how he keeps his "focus." Something I often notice about him when he's speaking, especially when he's going after Trump or some other Republican rat, is the focused look of his eyes. He often gets that look of determination in his eyes like few other Democrats I've ever seen. His eyes speak volumes about his intensity. Yes, focused he is.

There could well be more that would also thrill me, but those are the 3 "on offer" at the moment. They are all able, courageous and dedicated.

Shot five times and left for dead as a young legislative aide at Jonestown.

Tireless fighter for women, labor, and LGBTQ issues.

She may not want to run as Speaker but I don't know anyone as brave in Congress.
