Manchin apparently says he doesn't support nuclear option on organizing resolution

If this is actually true, then we have lost. The only option will be to agree to Mitch's demands that Democrats rule out the legislative filibuster for two years.

Dems have a mini-nuclear option at hand: They could end the filibuster on organizing resolutions (not the legislative filibuster) now.

@bindersab
says this would end McConnell's blockade.

But @Sen_JoeManchin tells me he will not agree to that either:

Here's my exchange with Sen. Manchin. He says he won't support ending the filibuster even on organizing resolutions.

I asked him about the fact that McConnell isn't letting Dems take over the majority. His answer is Schumer/McConnell have to work it out:

1. Should President Biden talk with Manchin? Maybe he could persuade him to support the mini-nuclear

option?

13. I agree Biden needs to have a meeting

with Manchin and Sinema to discuss the repercussions of not using the nuclear option right away. It is bloody time these guys get on the side of democrats. Manchin doesn't have an election coming too soon and Sinema needs to understand her state is turning from purple to blue so she better get on board.

2. Manchin's been angling to be the most powerful person in the senate.

Thatís been obvious since it looked like we had a chance to win both Georgia seats.

Apparently? Sorry not good enough for me, he either said it or did not. Otherwise this is bashing a Democrat on hearsay.

Geez. When we're in the minority, we're in the minority. When we're in the majority, we're still in the minority. It's enough to drive me to drink. Drink more, that is.

14. So this is your SECOND OP bashing Democrats, the first Claire McCaskill:

And now this. What is your issue with our Democratic Senators and ex-Senators? Would you prefer they be republicans?

16. George, we really need operational senate control

to advance President Biden's agenda and to pass laws. Also what Manchin just did blows up any chance of Biden getting Supreme Court nominees and other federal judicial nominees through plus FCC, NLRB, even controversial cabinet nominees through.

The OP gave me a link to prove his point that Manchin said those words. It was his twitter account and nothing about his refusing to vote. Where is the link you all are referring to?

19. Correct, but bashing our Democratic Senators here is not going to get it done. Five days in....

...and I'm not ready to give up on PRESIDENT Biden.

What we're seeing here isn't achieving "operational Senate control". I just don't understand this is happening after the last four years under trump and the republicans.

21. You are correct. It really bothers me that some don't give our Senators credit for getting...

...to the positions in which they are. Some seem to know more about what's going on in the House and Senate than those who have been elected and have been serving for a long time.

It's very disappointing that some don't have more confidence in our duly elected officials.
