No. People aren't nearly as valuable as they used to be. The modern trend is to force gov't to

subsidize the living expenses of low-wage workers.

If Walmart was forced to pay a living wage (i.e., pay it's workforce enough that it Walmart workers wouldn't qualify for government assistance like WIC, food stamps, Earned Income Tax Credit, etc.) then it wouldn't be profitable.

So the answer is NO! The 1%ers have everything set up exactly like they want it.
