I sorry for this vent and I don't sound "like a team player" or a "Real Democrat" but these are my feelings and if I can be corrected in the facts as I see them I am open.
So last night before I went to sleep I heard Mitch McConnell finally "Caved" and is allowing to the Democrats -who by the way are the majority to take power of the committees. Then I hear reports that two so called Democrats Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema basically promised McConnell they wouldn't vote for the Nuclear Option?! Are you Fucking kidding me!?! This is the same Asshole (McConnell) who has used the Nuclear option in the past and now you promise not to vote in the best interest of the American people. You promise not to vote for your "Constituents" for their best interests.
McConnell is a lowlife who basically manipulating Senators to keep power. This guy isn't going to let Covid relief package to pass and when Schumer needs to use the Nuclear option it is a mute point because Those two DINOs (yes, they are DINOs to Me) because they won't actually vote to prevent a greedy scum of a "man" is so power hunger that he manages to hold power when he shouldn't.
Oh and to add mother fucking insult to injury This Scum actually had the nerve -along with 44 others-to vote for an action to try and stop the impeachment because Rand Paul is saying it is illegal to impeach a President after he leave office. This is the same "President" who sent crazy idiots to try and kill you 10 fucking days earlier.
Want to make a bet had a Democratic President pulled 1/3rd of what Trump did let a along cause that Mob to invade the Capitol like that they would be demanding the 25th and if it wasn't done you want to make a bet the Republican house and Senate would have not only had impeachment charges against the President but also the Vice President who didn't get the 25th the President. A McConnell led Senate would have been called back to Impeach with in 2 or 3 days.
We are seriously between and rock and hard place.
And one last thing about Manchin and Synema this line of "Oh, I have to go back to my Constituents and explain why I voted for this" is Bull Shit. If you can't explain to your Constituents that yes, you can't work in a coal mine which is causing you an early death as it is BUT we are going to train you and make sure you have a job in this new field of clean renewable energy than you shouldn't be a Senator to begin with.

(56,198 posts)Once mcturtle starts abusing the filibuster, that changes things, even for manchin and sinema.
I doubt it's the *plan*, but it certainly is the way things are likely to unfold. After a few months of obstruction, there will be an outcry to nuke the filibuster. At *that* point, they would have political cover to say things have changed, mcturtle didn't stick to his word, and he abused it. So *then* they may be able to nuke it.

(6,797 posts)but Moscow Mitch has the power and IMO always will until there are enough democrats (real democrats) to vote against him. The sneaky bastard always figures out how to screw people over. We also need a leader who is as nasty as Mitch.
